Japanese Katana Swords

There are many different types of Japanese swords out there, but one of the most commonly talked about sword types would have to be the Japanese Katana Swords. The Katana is a term that is used usually to talk about a single edge sword. This is opposed, of course, to the Tsurugi, which is a term that is used to talk about a double edge sword. Most people know of the Katana as a sword that became very popular doing the Samurai period. This is, of course, funny, because the Katana was not used very often for warfare.

The Japanese Katana Swords were mostly used for civilian purposes. The Wakizashi was used more for warfare in Japan. Although Katana's are not used much any more for work as they used to be, they are still being bought. However, they are being bought today for more of a decorative approach to life. They are not just being used for decorations in Japan, they are being used in America as well.
